Ingolstadt U19

The best run in the youth team's recent history came in the 2024/25 DFB-Pokal der Junioren, where Ingolstadt's U19 side reached the quarter-finals. A year earlier, the same stage of the same competition had ended in a 0:1 defeat to SC Freiburg.

The side, known locally as the Jungschanzer, plays under the structure FC Ingolstadt 04 built in 2004, when MTV Ingolstadt and ESV Ingolstadt merged into a single club. It competes in the U19 DFB-Nachwuchsliga alongside the cup, sharing the Audi Sportpark with the senior team.

The academy's clearest recent export is Can Uzun, who moved on to 1. FC Nürnberg. Emre Gül took the more traditional route, working through the youth ranks before making his first-team debut in 2025, while Merlin Röhl has represented Germany at youth level.

Derby weekends against TSV 1860 Munich carry the old Oberbayern rivalry down into the youth fixtures, with 1. FC Nürnberg and SpVgg Unterhaching supplying the other fixtures that matter more than the league table suggests. For now, the U19s measure themselves against last season's quarter-final and third-place finish in the Pokal der Junioren, with the Nachwuchsliga campaign and another cup run the immediate targets.
