Jeonnam Dragons

Jeonnam Dragons beat Daegu FC 1-0 at home, then lost 4-3 away, and the aggregate finished level at 4-4. The away goals rule sent the cup to Gwangyang — the first time a K League 2 club had won it. Lee Jong-ho, who came through the club's own academy at Gwangyang Jecheol High School, captained that side.

The Dragons were set up in December 1994 as the football arm of a steel town, and the connection to the POSCO works still shapes the fixture list: matches against Pohang Steelers , tied to the same company, are known locally as the POSCO Derby. Closer to home there is Gwangju FC and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in the Jeolla Derby, and Gyeongnam FC across the Seomjin River.

For two decades the club carried a different name. It played as Chunnam Dragons until January 2014, when the romanisation of South Jeolla province changed and the badge followed.

Two years later the Dragons reached the final of the Asian Cup Winners' Cup and lost to Al Ittihad. The ground in Gwangyang holds 13,496.

Of the players, Ji Dong-won travelled furthest: an academy product who went on to Sunderland and Borussia Dortmund. The club is in K League 2.
