Jolly Jumpers Women

Tubbergen is a small municipality close to the German border, and for more than half a century its basketball has run through one address on Sportlaan, where Jolly Jumpers has played since 1969. Gé Westgeest founded the club and coached its early sides, laying the groundwork for a programme that would later carry Tubbergen onto the national stage.

The team has not always played under its own name. Sponsorship arrangements took it through spells as Perik Jumpers and Eurosped Twente before the club reverted to Jolly Jumpers around 2013, restoring the identity of the side known in match reports as de roodhemden, the red-shirts.

Its strongest period came in the early 2000s: the Landskampioen title in 2002, framed by National Cup wins in 2001, 2003 and 2005. A spell outside the top flight followed, and it took until 2017 for Jolly Jumpers to win the Promotiedivisie and return to the Women's Basketball League.

The club's hall, Sporthal de Vlaskoel, opened in 2018 inside the Sportcentrum de Vlaskoel and offers around 1,500 square metres of floor.

Recent seasons have sharpened two rivalries. Against Den Helder Suns, Jolly Jumpers opened a 2025 playoff series with a 75-66 win. Games against Martini Sparks tend to go to the wire, as in 2019, when Jolly Jumpers held on for a 53-52 result.
