Kitayosce

Tanzania's top flight is a recent address for the club now registered as TRA United Sports Club. Promotion came out of the 2022–23 season, when a second-place finish in the NBC Championship League carried the side into Ligi kuu Bara for the first time. Four years earlier it had taken the same route out of the Second Division, again as runners-up, and the two second places are the whole of its record: no league title, no cup.

The ownership has changed as often as the name. The legal entity was registered in 2014 in Ruangwa, in the Lindi region, as Kitayosce — short for Kilimanjaro Talented Youth Sports Centre. Yusuf Kitumbo bought it, moved it across the country to Tabora and renamed it Tabora United. In September 2025 the Tanzania Revenue Authority took it over.

What survived all of that is the nickname. Wababe wa Lipuli — the bosses of Lipuli — was in use in the press and on the terraces while the club still went by Kitayosce, and it points at a rivalry rather than a place: Lipuli FC of Iringa, knocked out of the Tanzanian cup on penalties in one of the meetings that gave the phrase its bite. Within Tabora itself there is nobody to play. No other club from the city was in the upper divisions in that period, so the derby the town might have had never existed.

Home games are at the Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium, which holds 35 000. The home kit is a white shirt with blue shorts and socks; the away is green and white.

John Noble, a Nigerian goalkeeper, had played for Enyimba and for ASC Kara in Togo, and had been named in Nigeria's extended squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. He put his name to a contract in Tabora.
