Langfang Glory City

Wang Jian's money and a management firm registered in Tianjin, Tianjin Nanyuozuo Management Consulting, put the club together on 21 December 2022, and what they started with was not a squad of free agents but the youth team of Hebei FC — a set of players already trained together, handed a senior badge in Langfang, in Hebei province, and told to go and win something.

They did it inside a year. The 2023 Chinese Members Association Champions League ended with Langfang Glory City unbeaten through the whole competition, and with the final against Shenzhen Juniors going to penalties. A club that had existed for twelve months came out of it with the trophy.

Langfang Stadium was the home ground for that run, and it was always an odd fit — a 30,040-seat bowl for a side barely out of its youth-team clothes. The stadium is also part of why the club is no longer there. Security and logistics in Langfang cost more than the operation could carry, and while that bill was mounting, the Hangzhou government made an offer.

The move went through in 2025. The club left Hebei for Hangzhou and changed its name to Hangzhou Linping Wuyue F.C., though the old identity has survived in the way people still refer to it as Hangzhou Glory City. Zhang Yanjing is listed as the legal representative of the ownership structure that carried it across.

Three years separate the founding from the relocation, and the only major honour in that window came in the middle of it, won without a single defeat.
