Paris 92 Women

The Palais des Sports Robert-Charpentier holds no more than 1,800 people. It has been the club's ground through three names and two rebrandings, the last of which gave the team its current identity.

Paris 92 started out in 1999 as Issy-les-Moulineaux Handball, built on the women's section handed down by Stade Français. A partnership with the City of Paris in 2009 turned it into Issy Paris Hand; a further partnership, this time with the Department of Hauts-de-Seine, produced the name it carries now — 92 being that department's code. The nickname, Les Lionnes, matches the black-and-gold colours the club has kept through all three eras.

The championship banner in the hall dates back to 1986, won under the Issy-les-Moulineaux name, and the club has not repeated it since. The Coupe de France went the same way, in 1986 and 1987, while the Coupe de la Ligue arrived later, in 2013, the same year the club reached the final of the EHF Cup Winners' Cup.

Kalidiatou Niakate came up through the club's own academy. The rivalry that means the most locally is not with Metz or Brest, the clubs Paris 92 chases in the league table, but with Stella Sports Saint-Maur, the other side from the Paris region, in what is known as the Derby francilien.
