The Championnat de France arrived in 2010, and within two years Les ReBelles added the Coupe de France in both 2011 and 2012, a run built around Siraba Dembélé-Pavlovic, Marie-Paule Gnabouyou and Audrey Deroin.

The club traces back to 2005, when Toulon Var Handball and HOC Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer joined forces as Entente Toulon/Saint-Cyr; the merger became permanent two years later under the name Toulon Saint-Cyr Var Handball. The current identity, Toulon Métropole Var Handball, dates only from the 2021/2022 season, when the club also took on professional company status.

Matches against OGC Nice Côte d'Azur Handball are billed as the Derby de la Méditerranée.

None of that history has offered much shelter lately. In October 2025, president Thierry Durand resigned with the club reportedly carrying a large deficit, and Toulon go into the fight against relegation in the Ligue Butagaz Énergie with its finances as much of a concern as its results.

Eden Julien is the name supporters reach for first. An academy graduate, she has anchored the team for more than a decade, through the title years and now through the club's toughest test off the court.
