Perth

In 1987 three Perth clubs with Italian roots, Perth Azzurri, East Fremantle Tricolore and Balcatta Etna, folded themselves into one side and called it Perth Italia Soccer Club. The blue and white kit and the "Azzurri" nickname never went anywhere in between; they trace back to the original 1948 club and the Italian migrant community that built it.

What the merger really did was pool decades of silverware under one badge. The combined club carried that habit into the 1990s and 2000s, adding titles in 1992, 1993, 2002, 2003 and 2005 before more recent premierships in 2016, 2018 and 2021. The D'Orsogna Cup went the same way, with wins spread from 1960 to 1993.

Two Socceroos, Tony Vidmar and Adrian Madaschi, came through the club before Australian football knew their names elsewhere. The women's side has since added its own line to the trophy cabinet, taking the Football West State Cup in 2024.

Home games are played at the Joondalup Sports Complex, known also as Arena Joondalup, where the ground's record crowd of 15,082 dates back to 1994 and has stood since. Balcatta Etna, one of the three clubs that vanished into the 1987 merger, remains a rival rather than a memory, alongside Perth RedStar.
