Travnik

Travnik play in the First League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the second tier — they won it three times, in 1999-2000, 2002-03 and 2006-07. They returned to that level by winning the western group of the Second League in 2023-24.

The stretch that defines them ran from 2000-01 to 2015-16. When it ended, the drop did not turn into a slide: the following season the club reached the quarter-finals of the Bosnian Cup.

Stadion Pirota holds 3,076 and sits in a town in central Bosnia better known for its Ottoman past than its football — the nickname Veziri, the viziers, comes from the same place. It is a small ground by the standards of the league the club spent a decade and a half in, and the second tier suits it better than the first ever did.

The club was founded in 1922, which puts it among the oldest still playing in the country. Nothing much came of the Yugoslav decades; the honours all date from after the war, when the Federation set up its own competitions and Travnik was one of the sides ready to win them.
