Zwolle Women

Games against Donar Groningen carry weight built up over years of Eredivisie Women meetings, and Heroes Den Bosch and the Grasshoppers side complete a trio of opponents that Zwolle's supporters mark on the calendar before the rest of the fixture list is even out. The women's side has never lifted the national championship or the cup.

The team now plays as Landstede Hammers Women. Yellow and blue remain the colours regardless of what the sponsors' block says.

One campaign stands out from the rest. In 2015–16 Zwolle took part in the EuroCup Women, then still finding its footing after the rebrand from EuroChallenge Women, and finished fourth in its preliminary group — a modest return on paper, but the only time the club has tested itself outside the Dutch league.

Home games are played in front of no more than 1,200 people at the Landstede Sportcentrum, a small enough number that the rivalry with Donar or Den Bosch fills the place in a way an ordinary league date does not. The club traces back to 1995, when it was registered as Cees Lubbers The Hammers, long before either the Orange Blizzards spell or the Landstede name attached itself to the women's team that plays under it now.
