Kilmarnock claimed a 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock II in their Challenge Cup Group Stage-5 fixture on Saturday evening. The away side took the lead after the break and never looked back, despite a penalty miss from their opponents earlier in the contest.

T. Cruden opened the scoring for the hosts in the fourth minute, but his side failed to capitalise on a penalty opportunity in the 36th when he saw his spot-kick saved. S. Campbell responded for Kilmarnock in the 57th minute, and K. Connell added a second in the 71st before R. Walker converted a penalty in the 81st to close the game out.

The statistics tell a story of dominance without clear-cut chances. Kilmarnock registered eight shots on target compared to three for their opponents, yet neither side managed to create a big chance throughout the match. Kilmarnock also held a slight edge in possession at 53 per cent.
