Regular Season - 7
Ružomberok Women faced Tatran Prešov in the I Liga on Saturday, and it was the visitors who took all three points after a 2:1 victory. The match ended 90 minutes after the opening whistle, with Prešov claiming the win in the closing stages.
And here's the thing — Ružomberok had the lead for most of the second half. S. Kundrava equalised in the 58th minute after Prešov had taken an early advantage. Then S. Bortnikova turned it around in the 80th, and by then the hosts were looking for a response.
E. Kenderova ended Ružomberok's hopes with a 90th-minute goal. The decision to push forward late in the game didn't pay off for the home side, who handed a hard task to their own defence when it mattered most.
To be fair, Prešov aren't on a perfect run. They had the game won inside twenty minutes against Petržalka last time out, but then lost 1:5 to Slovan Bratislava. This result keeps them in fifth place with 12 points from seven games.
Ružomberok sit ninth with just three points and one win from seven matches. They're closing in on a deal with relegation, and the heavy 0:7 defeat to Slovan Bratislava last weekend will have made them nervous.
The gap between the sides is clear on paper. Prešov have four wins already, while Ružomberok have lost six of their seven outings. This result means the hosts drop further behind.
