A. Shakir

Al-Hussein Shakir's first goal for Östers IF's senior side came late — the 87th minute, against IK Brage in the Svenska Cupen, on his competitive debut for the club. The match finished 4-1.

Shakir came through Östers IF's youth academy before being promoted to the senior squad, where he signed an apprenticeship contract that he later extended into a long-term deal. He operates as a central midfielder, with two goals and an assist across his senior appearances. On loan at Umeå FC in Division 1 Norra, he added a further goal and assist to his tally.

His form did not go unnoticed at Östers IF, where he was named the club's Youth Player of the Year for 2025. The recognition followed a run of representative football with Sweden's youth set-up. Shakir was picked for the Swedish P16 Future Team, a selection built around late-maturing players, and travelled to a four-nation tournament in Denmark where he scored on his debut for the group. He returned to the Future Team selection two years later. At full youth international level, he was capped by Sweden's U16 side in friendly matches, scoring once, and also attended a training camp with the U18 squad.
