About the player
Smajić's path to Landskrona BoIS's first team began at home: he came through the club's own ranks and made his Superettan debut at 15, in November 2021, before AIK picked him up for its academy in January 2023. The defensive midfielder spent the following two seasons out on loan, first at Täby FK in Ettan Norra in 2024, where he made 17 appearances and contributed 3 goals and an assist.
In January 2025 he returned to Landskrona BoIS, signing a three-year contract. The stay was interrupted again in August 2025, when he moved on loan to Örebro Syrianska IF for the rest of the season, making 10 appearances before the loan expired at the end of December. Through the academy switch and the two loan spells, no transfer fee changed hands at any stage.
Smajić has also been capped internationally by Sweden. At 185 cm, he fits the profile of a modern holding midfielder.
