About the player
Marcus Pettersson spent 2025 at Landskrona BoIS on loan from Malmö FF, and the club then made the move permanent. He arrived in December 2024 for the Superettan season and made 14 starts. On 7 August 2025 he signed a contract that runs to 31 December 2027. No fee was disclosed.
Malmö FF had been his club since he was eight. He began at LB07 and moved to the Malmö academy in 2013. He came up through the under-17 and under-19 sides, where he was the starting goalkeeper at under-19 level. He later became third-choice goalkeeper in the senior squad. He was in the under-17 group that won the Swedish U17 Championship in the 2022–2023 season.
His first extended run of senior football came away from Malmö. In 2024 he went on loan to BK Olympic in Ettan Södra. He made 14 appearances there and kept three clean sheets. That gave him a season of regular league football before the loan to Landskrona.
He has played for Sweden at youth level. He was in the under-17 setup in 2021 and 2022. He also kept goal for the P05 national team, the age group for players born in 2005, and started against Wales in June 2024.
At Landskrona he is a goalkeeper the club chose to keep after a season in which he played regularly. He wears number 30.
