About the player
Ángel Romero shares more than a locker room with his twin brother Óscar. It was at Cerro Porteño that Romero's career began, taking the Apertura in 2012 and the Clausura in 2013. That form earned him the ABC Color Award as Paraguayan Footballer of the Year in 2013.
His move to Corinthians in June 2014 turned into the defining stretch of his career.
There was a moment, in January 2022, when he appeared set to snub Boca Juniors for a move to Fenerbahçe instead. Romero made his debut for the club in February 2026 and has scored twice in his first two matches.
On the international stage, Romero has represented Paraguay since his debut in September 2013, taking part in the Copa América in both 2021 and 2024. He has scored eight goals in 52 appearances for the national side.
