Gleb Valgushev

Valgushev came through the Kairat academy system in Almaty, moving into Kairat-Zhas, the club's reserve side, once he left the youth ranks. His clearest statement of form came in the 2024 season, when he scored ten goals in 24 matches for Kairat-Zhas in the First Division, with Valgushev named the best forward in the 2005 birth-year category in Kazakhstan. He also featured in the UEFA Youth League with Kairat's under-19 side.

On 1 January 2025, Kyzyl-Zhar took him on loan. He made 18 appearances in the Premier League for the club that season, scoring once. The move was made permanent on 17 January 2026, a free transfer that tied him to Kyzyl-Zhar until the end of 2027.

He collected four caps and a goal at under-17 level, four more caps at under-19, and has gone on to feature for the under-21s. He has not yet been called into the senior national side.

His junior honours trace back further still: he won the Kazakhstan championship for players born in 2005 with Kairat in 2019, and later took the Freedom QJ League youth title in 2023, a season in which he was also named the best player of the eleventh round.

Sources differ slightly on his role, with some listing him as a forward rather than a midfielder, but at Kyzyl-Zhar he wears the number 79 shirt.
