Massimo

Roberto Massimo is a European Under-21 champion: he won the 2021 tournament with Germany's U21 side. He made four appearances for that age group between October 2020 and November 2021 and did not score. Born in Accra, he has never played for Ghana at any level. He holds German and Liberian citizenship and grew up in Germany.

His route into professional football ran through Westphalia. He was in the youth ranks at SV Lippstadt until 2014, then moved to Arminia Bielefeld, where he stayed through the academy and into the first team in 2017. A year later VfB Stuttgart paid Bielefeld €2.5m for him in June 2018. Stuttgart then sent him straight back to Bielefeld on loan for 2018–19.

He stayed at Stuttgart until 2024, but a first-team place there was not settled. In 2022–23 he went on loan to Académico Viseu in Portugal. When his Stuttgart contract ended he joined SpVgg Greuther Fürth on a free transfer and spent 2024–25 there.

In July 2025 he signed for Górnik Zabrze for €0.3m. He can play in central midfield or further forward, and the club's listing has him as a midfielder.

His time in Poland has since been interrupted. On 26 August 2026 Wehen Wiesbaden took him on loan for the 2026–27 season in the 3. Liga, returning him to the German league system, where he began his career.
