About the player
Matei Gashtarov made his senior debut for Crvena zvezda on 10 August 2025, coming off the bench in the 88th minute of a 9-0 Serbian SuperLiga win over Mladost Lučani. He joined the club after leaving Vardar in his native Skopje for Marakana in August 2024. With Red Star's youth side he won the Serbian Youth League in the 2024/25 season before stepping up to the first-team squad, where he now wears the number 60 shirt.
In January 2026 Gashtarov was loaned out to Borac Čačak until the end of the season. The 190cm midfielder started fourteen Serbian First League matches for Borac as the Čačak side battled to secure its survival under coach Nemanja Krtolica.
