About the player
Rômulo made his professional debut at Bahia in 2014 and won the Baiano state championship with the club a year later, before a loan spell took him to Red Bull Bragantino. His move to South Korea in January 2017 opened a new stretch of his career: four seasons at Busan I'Park, first in K League 2 and then, in 2020, in the top flight.
He arrived at Chengdu Rongcheng in February 2021 on a free transfer and has stayed there since. The Chinese FA Cup followed in 2023, and 2024 brought a standout campaign: he finished as the league's top scorer and its top assist provider.
Rômulo also went through Brazil's under-23 setup, earning five caps and scoring twice in 2015, the year he was part of the squad that took bronze at the Pan American Games in Toronto.
