About the player
Vladimir Tonkevich's route to a place in the Neman first team ran through two loans. He came up through the club's academy, moving through the U-16, U-17 and U-18/U-19 sides, and then the reserves in Neman-2, before making his senior debut in the 2024/2025 season.
The first loan, in 2024, took him to FK Lida in the Pershaya Liga. He made 32 appearances in all competitions and scored three goals, a notable return for a defender in his first full season away from Grodno. In 2025 he moved on loan to FK Smorgon, this time in the Vysshaya Liga, where he played 25 league matches and scored twice. Smorgon's supporters voted him their Best Player of the Month for August 2025.
Tonkevich came back to Neman at the end of 2025, and in January 2026 he signed an extension that runs until 31 December 2028.
The 2026 season has been his first as a regular at Neman. He has played 17 matches in the Vysshaya Liga and two in the Belarusian Cup. He was also in the squad that won the 2026 Belarusian Super Cup against ML Vitebsk on 28 February, although he stayed on the bench and did not play in the match.
