Yevhen Shevchenko

Yevhen Shevchenko came through at Lokomotiv Kyiv, where he was still developing as a young left-back before a strong season there. He signed a two-year contract with the Kyiv club in March 2015, arriving with a reputation as the best left-back in the Kyiv region.

He has stayed with the club through its various changes since, including the rebrand to Obolon Kyiv, and remains part of the squad in the 2025/2026 season. His path there was not entirely straightforward: reports from the 2018/2019 period describe a trial period before he was confirmed in the main squad, and in the summer of 2019 he left the club only to sign a new two-year contract weeks later, a move that had the look of a renewal rather than a genuine transfer, with no fee disclosed.

With Obolon-Brovar he collected two medals early in his spell at the club: silver in the Ukrainian Second League and, the following season, bronze in the Ukrainian First League. He plays as a left-back and wears the number 5 shirt.
