Avion Academy

The single title in Avion Academy's history came in 2018, when the club won Elite Two, Cameroon's second division, and earned promotion to Elite One for the following season. The club held its place in the top flight for five seasons before relegation returned it to Elite Two in 2023.

The strongest of those Elite One campaigns came in 2019/2020, when Avion Academy finished 7th in its regular-season group. In the Cameroon Cup, the club reached the semi-finals in 2022 before Cotonsport de Garoua shut the door with a 2-0 win.

The academy's name has carried through in the players it has sent out rather than in the trophies it has kept. George Rodrigues Mfegue came through as a striker, captained the side, and scored 26 goals in all competitions before Asante Kotoko signed him from Douala in October 2021 for €30,000.

Where the team actually plays has never quite been settled: some records point to a local pitch at Cité-Cicam, others to the Stade Annexe de la Réunification, which holds 4,000.

Relegation has not eased the pressure. The 2023/2024 season took Avion Academy into the Ligue de Relégation play-offs, where it finished 10th.
