Kumba

Kumba sits in the South-West Region of Cameroon, a town whose football had for five years gone no further than the regional league. Kumba City FC carried that spell into the Trophé des Interpoules, the country's second division. Representing the South-West, the club beat Titanic FC Samar 4-0 in the semi-final, then met Sable FC de Batié in the final at the Centre Technique de la FECAFOOT in Odza, Yaoundé, on 20 September 2025. The match went to extra time; Kumba City won it 4-3.

That result took the club into professional football for the first time. It is described in Cameroon as the town's official side, owned by the people of Kumba rather than by an individual backer.

The team is not to be confused with Kumba Lakers FC, a separate club from the same town that remains in the regional league. Home matches are currently played on the field of the Government Primary and Secondary School; the old Municipal Stadium, which the club used before, has no grandstands and amounts to little more than a marked pitch. A stadium designed for 10,000 seats has been under construction in the town, though it was not ready in time for the promotion.

Kumba City now has to prove itself in the Elite Two with a ground that would not look out of place in the regional league it just left.
