Sabane Kaboré had already played for KOZAF and Salitas FC by the time he stepped up in May 2025 to score the winning goal in the inaugural Super Coupe de la Ligue 2, a 1–0 defeat of AJEB.

Centre de Formation de Football Espoir du Burkina began life in Ouagadougou in 2013 as a youth academy, and for most of the years since it stayed in Ligue 2. That changed in 2024–2025, when the club won Pool A of Ligue 2 under head coach Yssouf Ouédraogo, known as Lato, and earned promotion to the Première Division for the first time. The Super Coupe followed weeks later, giving the promotion campaign a trophy to go with it.

CFFEB has also made a habit of finishing third in the Coupe du Faso, beating ASFA Yennenga 1–0 in the 2024 play-off and Real du Faso 1–0 by the same score in 2026. Cédric Barro, once a Burkina Faso international, is among the names who have worn the shirt.

The club now plays its Première Division football at the Stade Dr. Issoufou Joseph Conombo, still known locally as the Stade Municipal. It has no derby of its own to speak of — Ouagadougou's rivalry belongs to Étoile Filante and ASFA-Yennenga.
