Douanes

In the 2022 Coupe du Faso final, Douanes beat USCO 1–0.

Douanes, known to their supporters as Les Gabelous, represent the national customs administration and only reached the Burkinabé Premier League in the 2018/19 season. What followed took most of Burkinabé football by surprise: back-to-back league titles in 2022–23 and 2023–24, stacked on top of that first cup win and three straight editions of the Super Coupe AJSB.

Kamou Malo, who had previously managed the Burkina Faso national team, was in charge for the run of titles, building a side around recruited experience rather than a production line of academy graduates — the Nigerian striker Michael Ibeh top-scored during those years, and Clément Pitroipa carried the attack into the national team picture as well. The approach has been to buy in quality rather than wait for it to grow.

Home games are played in front of up to 15,000 at the Stade Dr Issoufou Joseph Conombo, and the closest thing Douanes have to a derby is against ASFA-Yennenga.

What Les Gabelous have not yet built is a history stretching back before their own success. The club's rise from a customs-department side to double champions happened inside a handful of seasons, and there is no long list of earlier honours behind it to point to.
