Davao Aguilas

Before Davao Aguilas had played a match, the Davao del Norte Sports Complex in Tagum City had already hosted them. The club's launch ceremony was held there in March 2017, and the 3,000-seat ground stayed home for the whole Davao era.

The Younghusband brothers, Phil and James, signed in August 2017 after leaving Meralco Manila. In 2018 Phil scored 12 league goals, the most at the club that year. Aguilas finished third in the Philippines Football League (PFL) regular season and reached the final of the Copa Paulino Alcantara, where Kaya–Iloilo beat them 1–0.

That was the last season of the first spell. In December 2018 the club withdrew from the PFL after disagreements with the league management. Owner Jefferson Cheng was unhappy with the appointment of Bernie Sumayao as commissioner.

Aguilas resumed in July 2020 and put their effort into youth development. Kaya–Iloilo were the opponents again in the 2023 Copa Paulino Alcantara final, and the club returned to the PFL in 2024.

In June 2025 the club left Tagum for Makati, in Metro Manila. A partnership with the University of Makati brought the new name, Aguilas–UMak F.C., and a new ground, the University of Makati Stadium, which holds 3,295. The old name was Spanish for "eagles", taken from the Philippine eagle on the crest, and the new one keeps it. The colours, blue and red, come from the Philippine flag.

Their first season under the new name ended with sixth place in the regular season and fifth in the Final Series.
