Stomil Olsztyn

Olsztyn has two clubs that share a city and split it in half at derby time: Stomil against Warmia, and the wider rivalry with Olimpia Elbląg that locals call the Derby Warmii i Mazur. Neither has needed European nights to matter.

What Stomil has instead is a shape familiar to Polish provincial clubs of its generation: a factory sponsor's name worn as a nickname. The chemical plant gave the club "Stomilowcy". Sixth place in 1995–96 remains the high point. Marcin Szulik outlasted them all, making more Ekstraklasa appearances for the club than anyone else — 104.

Bankruptcy caught up with the club in 2003. Olsztyn kept a team on the pitch by renaming it OKS 1945, and only in 2012 did the Stomil name and colours come back.
