About the player
Alexis Fariña came through the youth academy at Cerro Porteño, making his professional debut in March 2023, and stayed with the club through 2025. He reached the third round of the 2023 U-20 Copa Libertadores with the club's youth side. In August 2025, Minnesota United signed him on loan with an option to buy, appearing mainly for the reserve side, Minnesota United 2, in MLS NEXT Pro, where he scored twice and added an assist in six matches.
That loan meant he was absent from Cerro Porteño's run to the 2025 Torneo Clausura title, and he returned to Paraguay at the end of the year.
He returned to Cerro Porteño for the start of 2026, then moved to Sportivo 2 de Mayo on loan in February, a deal that runs to the end of the year. By the middle of 2026 he had made close to twenty appearances for his new club, scoring once and setting up four goals for teammates.
