Bryan Daniel Bentaberry Varela

Bentaberry has moved between clubs and countries more often than he has stayed put, and his most significant medal so far came far from home. Joining Club Bolívar in 2023, the defender won the Copa de la División Profesional the following year, beating Jorge Wilstermann 3-1 on aggregate in the final.

Promoted to Danubio's first team in 2017, he never made his debut for the club that raised him, instead going out on loan to Villa Española before returning and leaving as a free agent. Spells at Atlético Cerro, Atlético Progreso and Cerro Largo followed in quick succession.

After Bolívar, he returned to Uruguay with Liverpool on a free transfer in mid-2024, before a loan took him to Ecuador's Mushuc Runa at the start of 2025. In January 2026 he joined Olimpia as a free agent on a contract running to the end of 2027. He made his debut for the club that year and was part of the squad that won the Paraguayan Primera División.

Despite representing clubs in both Uruguay and Paraguay, Bentaberry has not been capped at senior international level by either country. His career has instead been built on adaptability.
