Homer Martinez

Homer Martínez came through the youth ranks at Independiente Medellín and Barranquilla F.C. before making his senior debut at Atlético Junior in 2016. He got his run of games at Barranquilla F.C., appearing 54 times and scoring five goals between 2017 and 2018, then added ten more appearances there in 2019. A season at Atlético Bucaramanga followed in 2020, with 20 appearances, before he returned to Atlético Junior, where he settled into the side and went on to make 100 appearances and score two goals across several spells running through to 2024.

A move to Independiente Medellín in 2024 gave him a further 30 appearances and a goal. In January 2022, Martínez earned his first cap for Colombia, coming on in a friendly against Honduras that the national side won 2-1.

He joined FC Juárez as a free agent in July 2025, taking the number 18 shirt. In his debut season with the club he became a regular fixture in midfield, featuring close to 30 times, and although goals did not come his way, he set up a goal for a teammate during the campaign. A year later, in July 2026, Juárez sent him out on a season-long loan to Deportes Tolima, where he switched to the number 14 shirt.
