Luis Sandoval

Sandoval, known as "El Chino", came through the youth ranks at Atlético Junior before being loaned twice within the club's own system to Barranquilla Fútbol Club, followed by a spell at Fortaleza CEIF and a season at Águilas Doradas. His contract with Junior was terminated over indiscipline issues, and he moved to Deportivo Cali on a free transfer in July 2023. In the second half of that year alone he scored 10 goals and added three assists in 27 matches, a run that drew interest from clubs abroad, including San Lorenzo.

The following year brought more movement. He left Cali by mutual agreement in March 2024 and joined Real Cartagena, then made a permanent move to Deportivo Independiente Medellín that July. In 2026 he went out on loan to Deportes Tolima, where he has become the team's key attacking presence, finishing as the club's top league scorer with seven goals by May of that year and helping Tolima into the Copa Libertadores.

At international level, Sandoval's honours have come exclusively at youth level. He won gold with Colombia's under-21 side at the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla and bronze with the under-20 team at the South American Games in Cochabamba that same year. He went on to represent Colombia at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, scoring once, and at the South American U-20 Championship, before featuring for the under-23 side during qualification for the 2020 Olympics. He has yet to be called up to the senior national team. His sole major trophy at club level remains the Superliga de Colombia, won with Atlético Junior in 2020.
