Thiago Silvero

Silvero has never had to leave home to build a career. Spotted as a five-year-old playing for the local baby football side Deportivo Tigre, he was brought into Vélez Sarsfield's academy, La Fábrica, and never left, working his way up from the infantiles through to the reserve team. That patience paid off: with the Reserva he won the Trofeo de Campeones de Reserva in 2023, coming off the bench in a 1–0 win over Independiente, and added the Copa LPF Proyección Inicial the same year and the Copa LPF Proyección Clausura in 2025.

A professional contract followed in July 2024, and Silvero made his first-team debut against San Martín in March 2025. He went on to make 13 appearances in the Liga Profesional that season plus two in the Copa Libertadores, enough for the club to tie him down with a contract extension in November 2025 running to the end of 2028. As a graduate of the academy, his rise to the first team has come without a transfer fee attached at any stage.

His progress has not gone unnoticed at international level either. Called up by Argentina's under-20 side, the defender scored on his debut against Uzbekistan in October 2024 and has since added further caps for the age group. A senior trophy with Vélez Sarsfield is still to come.
