«Saints»
No fixture stirs New Orleans quite like the one against the Atlanta Falcons, the oldest and sharpest grudge in the NFC South.
For two decades that history was brutal. The Saints went twenty straight seasons without a winning record or a playoff appearance, long enough that fans took to wearing paper bags over their heads and calling the team the "'Aints." Jim E. Mora's arrival in 1987 finally broke that run.
Coming back to the Superdome in 2006 mattered to the city as much as it did to the club, and that season ended with an NFC Championship win over the Chicago Bears.
Three years later New Orleans went all the way. Super Bowl XLIV, the 2009 season, ended 31–17 over the Indianapolis Colts, with Drew Brees taking the MVP award and Tracy Porter's interception sealing it. The Saints have since added a run of NFC South titles, seven in all, though the closest they came to a second Super Bowl appearance ended in 2018 against the Los Angeles Rams, in the game still remembered simply as the "No-Call."
Hannan signing off on it. New Orleans has been "Who Dat Nation" ever since.
