Serrano RJ

Under a partnership struck with Nova Friburgo FC, the club filled its squad for that year's Campeonato Carioca Série C, the third tier of Rio de Janeiro state football, largely with men on loan from Cabofriense. The experiment did not survive the campaign: Serrano was thrown out of the competition for fielding irregular players.

Green and white have been the club's colours since it was founded on 2 September 1979, and they gave rise to the nickname by which it is known around town, Alviverde Trajanense. That identity has mattered more at home than anywhere else: Serrano has won the Campeonato Citadino de Trajano de Moraes, the municipal title, on several occasions.

Fixtures are split between the Estádio Municipal Francisco Limongi, in the centre of town, and the Estádio Milongão over in Visconde de Imbé. There is no club website to check for team news, no social media feed to follow a matchday on; what there is of Serrano lives in municipal football, in a city championship it keeps returning to defend.
