Abdul Mumin Inus Musah played for Yapei in June 2024, when the club went through the Northern Regional Football Association's Middle League past Kubumgu Biebiem, Boresa and Tamale Soccer Angels to book a place in the Division One League. That promotion, secured for the 2025/26 season, followed a run in the Division Two Middle League the year before.

Money for the push came from John Abdulai Jinapor, the Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu, who put in GHS 50,000 towards the club's operations and youth setup. He had already put his name to the ground: Jinapor Park, commissioned in December 2023 as the Jinapor II Astro Turf Pitch Complex, is in Buipe, a town in the Central Gonja District that also has its own club, Buipe Scorpions.
