In June 2025, a side from the Ghana Division One League reached the final of the MTN FA Cup — the first team from that tier ever to reach it.

The club, based in the Mamprobi area of Accra, was founded in 2016 and has since built its name on producing players rather than keeping them. Golden Kick plays in Zone Three of the Division One League, where the closest matches are all-Accra affairs against Port City and Accra Great Olympics.

Home games are played on the Tuba Astro Turf, a 5,000-capacity ground near Kokrobite. Golden Kick play in yellow and black and carry no nickname — the run to Kotoko in the final remains the line by which the club is measured, as the first Division One team to get there at all.
