Attram de Visser

Sowutuom sits inside greater Accra, and it is not the kind of place most people outside Ghana could place on a map. What put it in football conversations is a football academy that grew out of a partnership between a Ghanaian international, Godwin Attram, and a Dutch scout, Piet de Visser, formalised on 21 June 2010. The club plays out of ADVSA Park, a ground built for roughly 1,000 spectators, in white shirts and blue shorts.

The academy side of the operation has done more for the club's name than any trophy. In March 2022, ADVSA bought into senior football directly, taking over the Division One League Zone 3 side Accra City Stars and rebranding it as Attram De Visser Soccer Academy Sporting Club.

The Greater Accra Regional Football Association Special Competition went to ADVSA in 2019, settled on penalties 5-4 against Charity Stars after neither side could break the deadlock in normal time. Two years later came the Jordan Anagblah Memorial Cup. The club's best domestic cup run arrived in the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup, where a penalty shoot-out win over PAC Academy set up a run to the semi-finals before Golden Kick ended it 3-1. There is little sentiment reserved for True Democracy FC, a rivalry that has spilled into an attack on the ADVSA team bus after a 1-0 defeat.

Of the names to come out of the academy, Kwadwo Opoku travels furthest in the telling: signed by Los Angeles FC in October 2020.
