Nukunu

The Volta Region Division Two Middle League final ended 1-0 to Nukunu over Yadzo Oti Warriors FC, and the goal came from a rebound: Esinu Harry put away the follow-up after a penalty was saved. That single finish in the 2025/26 season took the club into the Access Bank Division One League for 2026/27.

Nukunu, known as The Wonder Boys, is the football arm of the Nukunu Sports Academy in Dzodze, in the Ketu North Municipality. The academy was set up and is owned by Eric Edem Agbana, the constituency's Member of Parliament, and the club exists as its extension. By the 2024 season it was already playing in the Volta Region Division Two.

The title season was not only about one penalty. Teye Michael Awuley was named the division's best goalkeeper, and Junior Ayitey finished as its top scorer with three goals. Keta FC and Yadzo Oti Warriors FC count as the club's rivals.

Promotion has brought quick changes. In July 2026 Foli Wisdom, an attacking midfielder, arrived from Tamale City FC on a three-year deal. That same month construction began on the Nukunu FC Sports Complex in Dzodze, intended as the home ground for Division One. The club also presented home and away kits from The Hope Brand for 2026/27.

The complex is still being built, so Nukunu has no finished ground of its own for the step up. It has yet to play a match in the division it has just reached.
