Wa Power

Wa sits in Ghana's Upper West Region, and for a town that far from the football centres of Accra and Kumasi, a club in the second tier counts for something locally. Wa Power took shape around 2020, when Musah Salifu took charge of the side, and it emerged as the local team around the same time Wa All Stars had gone out of the local game.

The club plays out of the Malik Jabir Sports Stadium, a 5,000-seat ground renamed for the former Ghana international rather than Wa Sports Stadium.

The derby with TF Exponential FC is billed locally as the Upper West derby, and when Bolga All Stars share a division with Wa Power, the meeting is framed as a northern derby.

Among the players who have passed through, Wahid Issahaku arrived with Ghana Premier League experience from Aduana FC, while Seidu Musah came through as a Black Satellites prospect.
