Gallardo secured a 59-51 victory against Istanbul Utku Women in the TKBL on Monday evening at 15:00. The home side held their nerve to edge past the visitors in what proved to be a tightly contested affair. This result marks a positive shift after a mixed run of recent form.
Gallardo arrived with uneven results from their last five outings. They had lost 63-76 to Fenerbahçe 2 and 61-73 to Mersin Women, while victories over Emlak Konut Gelisim 2, Yalova, and Kirklareli provided some consistency. This win offers a chance to build momentum.
The final scoreline reflected a match decided by small margins. Gallardo's defence held firm when it mattered, limiting Istanbul Utku's scoring opportunities in the crucial moments. The visitors struggled to find the same rhythm they had shown earlier.
For Gallardo, this victory ends a two-game losing streak and gives them something to work with. The team kept their heads throughout, even when Istanbul Utku threatened to pull away at times. The old head settled them down when the pressure mounted.
The result leaves Gallardo with improved confidence ahead of their next fixture. They showed they can compete against opposition in this league and came out on top when it counted. A fourth straight win would be ambitious, but this is a solid foundation.
