Amical Stössel secured a 91-78 victory over Grengewald Hichert in the Total League on Friday evening. The away side took control early and held their composure throughout, finishing with a thirteen-point margin. The result marks another step forward for the visitors in their campaign.
To be fair, Amical Stössel have shown flashes of consistency this season. Their recent record includes two wins against Mussel Pyx and a convincing 75-63 victory over Les Sangliers Vults Women. They have not found the same rhythm in every fixture, but this performance felt steadier.
Grengewald Hichert, meanwhile, have struggled to string results together. Their last outing saw them fall 72-91 to T71 Dudelange Women, and before that an 83-87 defeat to Mussel Pyx. They have not won any of their three most recent matches in the competition.
By then, the visitors had already extended their unbeaten run to four games across all competitions. Amical Stössel sit fourth in the table with five wins from twelve matches, though the points tally remains at zero — a peculiarity of the current standings.
The hosts now face a run of fixtures where they will need to find answers quickly. They have not beaten any side since their narrow 91-90 win over Antalya 07 Women back in November. And here's the thing, the gap between them and the teams above is not insurmountable if they can turn their form around.
