ZKK Duga Sabac Women — Subotica Women: 50:60, 1. ZLS Women

Subotica defeated Duga Sabac 60:50 in the 1. ZLS women's basketball league on Thursday evening. The visitors took control early and held firm despite the hosts' attempts to rally. We had backed the home side at 61 per cent confidence, but the game unfolded quite differently.

Duga Sabac arrived with a heavy heart after that 49:89 thrashing by Vojvodina 021 just days earlier. To be fair, Subotica had also been struggling, losing 46:53 to Novosadska Novi-Sad on Sunday. Neither team was in great form, yet the away side found extra resolve.

By then it was clear Subotica would make life awkward for the hosts. They moved the ball with purpose and cut them open at will in the opening period. Duga Sabac gave away too many cheap fouls, which allowed the visitors to control the tempo and build a cushion that never really wavered.

The standings tell a similar story of struggle. Duga Sabac sit eighth with seven wins from twenty-two games, while Subotica remain twelfth with just three victories. Neither side has accumulated any points so far, which speaks to the wider challenges both clubs face this season.

The ten-point margin reflects a game where Subotica held every card after the first quarter. Duga Sabac's recent form suggests this result fits a pattern rather than breaking one. The visitors will take heart from finally stringing together something positive.
