Subotica Women

The Sport Palace Subotica seats 3,500. The hall serves a team known locally as the Golubice, the Doves, colours blue and white, and a name that traces back to the wider Spartak sports society founded on 21 April 1945 and named for Jovan Mikić Spartak, an Olympic athlete from the city killed the previous year. The men's basketball section built its own record under that same banner, winning the Serbian Championship and the ABA League Second Division in recent seasons; the women's side has stayed apart from that success.

That development shows in the names who passed through Subotica young and left with senior honours elsewhere. Tijana Ajduković played for the club between 2006 and 2010 before winning gold with Serbia at EuroBasket 2015. Sanja Orozović took a different path, returning to Subotica again and again — 2006 to 2010, then 2010–11, then shorter spells in 2016 and 2018 before coming back once more in 2023 — while building a career across Slovenia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Poland, Montenegro, Italy and Iceland in between.

For this season the club sits in the First League of Serbia, the second tier, after Radivoj Korać withdrew from that division. Dušan Perović coaches the team, with Vojislav Perović chairing the club. The fixture that still draws attention is the meeting with ŽKK Vojvodina of Novi Sad, called the Vojvođansko derbi in the local press.
