Ranko Žeravica Sports Hall in Belgrade seats about 5,000, though Crvena zvezda's women have also had to fit their fixtures into the smaller Sportski Centar Šumice and Železnik Hall when the calendar demanded it. The club grew out of the SD Crvena zvezda multi-sports society, formed on 4 March 1945, and basketball has carried the red and white ever since.

No women's side in the region has matched what came after: 36 national championships and 17 domestic cups. The single continental title still stands apart from that pile of domestic silverware — the 1978–79 European Cup, won by beating BSE Budapest 97–62 in the final. A second final appearance followed in 1981, without the trophy.

The name over the door has changed with the sponsors — Belim, Kombank, mts, now Meridianbet — but the fixture that matters hasn't: the Eternal Derby against ŽKK Partizan. The 2025–26 season brought the 36th championship and, with the cup already won, the club's twelfth domestic double.

Snežana Zorić's number hangs retired alongside those of Vukica Mitić, Zorica Đurković, Sofija Pekić and Anđelija Arbutina.
