Vojvodina 021 Women

In September 2020, a club barely two years settled in Novi Sad took on the name of a team that no longer existed. ŽKK Vojvodina had folded in 2016 after nearly seventy years inside the multi-sport society SD Vojvodina, and the side picking up its name had itself started out elsewhere entirely, founded in 1999 as ŽKK Beočin before relocating to the city in 2018 and playing briefly as ŽKK 021. What resulted was not a revival in the strict sense — a new club, inheriting a place and a name rather than a roster — but the connection stuck.

The old Vojvodina had won the Yugoslav league twice, in 1969 and 1970, and later added a national cup in 2001. The new one built its own, smaller list: the 1. ŽLS regular-season title in 2021, a cup final lost the same year, and third place in the WABA League in 2023.

Ana Dabović's name sits at the centre of the club's identity more than any trophy — she played for it and, between 2015 and 2016, ran it as president. The current side leans the other way from that kind of stardom: under Nataša Anđelić, Vojvodina 021 has built its squad around students and high schoolers from Novi Sad, fielding players such as Žaklina Janković and Katarina Jakovljević through the 2023–24 season.

Games against Novosadska ŽKA carry their own weight as the Novosadski derbi, the one fixture in the city calendar where the tulip nickname, Lale, gets shouted loudest. The hall at SPENS, where all this plays out, seats 11,500 — a capacity built for a multi-sport complex, not for women's basketball crowds, but one that still marks the space where a defunct club's name found a second team to carry it.
