Ras Women

Zdravka Čelara Street in Belgrade's Čukarica municipality leads to Hala Radivoj Korać, where Ras Women play in the First Women's Basketball League of Serbia. By 2005 the club already had a website running and Pioneer-age youth squads training under its name, a sign of a program built up through its junior ranks well before its senior results drew any wider notice.

Those junior ranks eventually met the first team on the scoresheet. The clearest result in the club's recent record came in the 2021/22 season, when Ras Women won the First Women's Regional League North, run by the Vojvodina Basketball Association, a title that carried the side into the level it competes at now.

The development work behind that title has sent players in different directions. Maša Buzić left the Ras junior system for a basketball scholarship at the University of Tennessee, taking the American college route. Katarina Ristić stayed inside the Serbian pyramid, and it paid off: she was named the outstanding player of the final tournament in the national Cadet League and went on to a place in Serbia's under-18 national team, the clearest name to come out of Ras in recent years.
