"This is the whitest Lakers team since the club was based in Minneapolis," Barnes said in an interview with TMZ Sports.
"I think Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves are among the best guards in the league. Plus the team has gotten deeper."
He stopped short of a prediction for the season ahead. "Everyone wants to make a bold statement and predict what the team will achieve. But the Lakers are the Lakers. When they go through hard times, they don't stay down for long. So it will be interesting to see how this season turns out."
