Pedro Martínez sets Real Madrid's playing priorities
Real Madrid's head coach outlined his vision of aggressive defence and fast, shared-ball basketball after preseason wins over Baskonia and Breogán.
"I would like us to have aggressive defence, to play fast and to be able to share the ball. These are our priorities and the main principles we want to see in the team's play as soon as possible," Martínez told the club's press office.
Real Madrid opened their pre-season with a defeat to Breogán, 102-110, before beating Baskonia 121-80. Martínez said he was pleased with how the squad had worked at the start of pre-season training, and singled out the players' attitude in training.
"The players' mentality has been outstanding. From the first day they have tried to meet our demands with a very good attitude, and they train with huge commitment. This is a very important moment for us, because we are building for the season," the Spanish coach added.
