European Volleyball Championship: Groups Resume Sept 15

The men's European Volleyball Championship group phase resumes on 15 September with eight fixtures spread across four host cities.

In Modena, Group A leaders Italy face Czechia in the standout tie of the day, both sides unbeaten after three matches, Italy on 9 points and Czechia on 8. Greece, sitting fourth on 3 points, play earlier in the evening. Slovenia, third on 6 points, are idle.

Ukraine have won all four matches played and lead on 12 points, Belgium sit third on 9 points but are not in action; North Macedonia and Portugal, both winless, play each other in Sofia's other fixture.

Tampere hosts Group C, where Finland have not dropped a match and lead on 8 points. Belgium, second on 7, meet Denmark, third on 6. Finland themselves take on Netherlands, still searching for their first win after three defeats. The city has staged several of the group's matches already this month, including Serbia's games against Estonia and Netherlands.

In Cluj-Napoca, Group D leaders Germany, unbeaten in four, face France, who have won all three of their matches, in a meeting between the two sides at the top. Romania sit third on 7 points. Latvia play Switzerland, who have lost all four matches and remain without a point.

The top four finishers in each group advance to the play-offs.
